Vultures - said the CO
by punkofnice ini was in a congregation where the po was also the co. a bit of n old curmudgeon.
he's no longer with us.. i remember him getting rather sarcy (that's 'snarky' to my american cousins), about how the local jobos would descend on someone new entering the kingdum he££ to try to get a 'study(tm)' and make 'placements(tm)' with the newbie.
not to mention 'love bombing'.. he said from the pratt-form that he didn't want the 'publishers(tm)' become 'vultures'.. i agreed with him.. by extension (typical jobo term), i noticed a certain preciousness about things...perhaps even a corrosive jealousy about things.. eg: if someone gave an 'experience(tm)' in a 'comment(tm)' about how they converted the universe and its dog (almost), to jobo-ism, (well not really, but you know, something more credible), the elder or whomever would ignore it, blank it as if they were envious.

If someone was assigned to give an experience at an assembly, they were either held in high esteem or derided because those in the know were aware of how embellished the story was. Bullshit experiences were very common from the platform, Once you were aware of the fake experiences from your congregation being presented, you became skeptical of all experiences given.
Experiences were bragging rights for sure. Poor fellow "publishers" who had none resented those who bragged, and again most experiences were BS.

Favorite Quotations from Movies
by compound complex in"the way you walked was thorny, through no fault of your own, but as the rain enters the soil, the river enters the sea, so tears run to a predestined end.
now you will have peace for eternity.

Jehovah had a covenant with Israel but he lost the receipt. Now he cannot return it. We are all doomed until Jesus pays the overdraft fees on Jehovah's Savors card. We are so screwed except for those who have overdraft protection. Praise Jesus.

Dietary Quirks Among JWs
by millie210 ini recently had to accompany an older family member out of state to a family reunion.
it was a big reunion and not much was overtly made of the fact that i am "misguided" and not attending meetings (lost soul that i am) which was nice.
the thing i noticed that i was most struck by was all the dietary quirks in evidence during our 3 days together.

Everyone in my area are focused on this food allergy business. No gluten, no sugar, no starch and no lactose. Its annoying. Its more so among the JW's because they want to stay alive till the end of this system. They are convinced we are sickly because we are farther from perfection and our bodies are breaking down. As if eating different could stop that process. Fools. -

The Change
by Counter-Watchtower inthe change has begun.

now the change to them wanting to have nothing to do with me has begun.

CounterW, you didn't join so you are not in the club. All the things you had that attracted them, video games, tv's, vehicles or clothes are not available because you opted not to join the vast bullshit army. So enjoy your toys and make real friends that have their own toys and don't need to exploit yours. You didn't mention any of this, but I clearly am aware how they scheme. Go and sin no more! Have a good life and don't bother with them.

THIS Is How JWs Feel About The Cut In Magazines And Content
by pale.emperor ini asked the question on quora "how do jehovah's witnesses feel about the announcement that the public edition of the watchtower and awake!
magazine is being reduced to just 3 issues a year and the number of books, tracts, and online content are being discontinued?".

How/when did you become a jehovas witness?
by Lewis1998 inso i've been a protestant for most of my life, it's how i was raised, but recently i started questioning my faith more and more and now i feel like my beliefs resemble that of a jehovas witness rather than a protestant.
i don't know any jehovas witnesses, so i was just wondering how a lot of you found the religion and adapted to it?.

Parents were exposed in the late 50's and adopted many customs, no birthdays, blood, holidays etc. Was raised "around" the religion. Die hard aunt kept pushing. I followed thru on my own and baptized at 16. The rest of my siblings fell like dominoes. YEARS later my mom was baptized in the 90's. Dad never fell for it fully. I guess it was my fault we got sucked in.

First posting on here..Hello all
by London Underground injust wanted to say a big hello to everyone, my first post on here was actually yesterday but it was deleted.. so will keep this one short to save my precious time just in case its also deleted or lost.. got fed up with years of persecution from within the congregations.
the lack of genuine friendship & lack of 'christian love'.
having personally seen many a scandalous behaviour i began doing some research online some years ago.
